Biography

Tobias Segura Peralta (1992) grew up in a family of musicians and discovered the piano and the guitar at a young age. When he was eight years old he auditioned for the Kathedrale Koorschool Utrecht. The conductor, Gerard Beemster, soon thereafter gave him the opportunity to sing many solos. When he was ten years old, Tobias sang soprano solo in B. Britten’s Nicolas Cantata in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. He also sang the Miserere by G. Allegri, J. Rutter's Requiem, Mozart’s Krönungsmesse and in many church services throughout Europe. While in secondary school, Tobias wrote, sang and played pop songs, but he never lost interest in classical music. Together with vocal coach Bas Ramselaar, he prepared for his audition at the Conservatory of Utrecht, where he studied with Jon Thorsteinsson and graduated cum laude in 2017.
